The Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) conducted a Skills Training for Local Water Infrastructure in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the KALAHI-CIDSS program in Brgy. Napsan, Puerto Princesa City.

Last June 25, 2025, a total of thirty-six (36) local residents in Brgy. Napsan, participated in the water skills training for basic plumbing water system construction. This initiative prepares the community for the upcoming project of KALAHI-CIDSS Water System Sub-Project.

This community-based plumbing skills training builds technical knowledge and capabilities, and also supports the Gender and Development (GAD) goals and plans of PPCWD. The inclusive activity promotes gender equality for both men and women, local volunteers and barangay officials, in a field traditionally dominated by males: water plumbing.

Our trainer, June Amy D. Panganiban, shares her knowledge during a hands-on session after the lecture on basic water plumbing. Ms. Panganiban also represented PPCWD’s Basic Plumbing Training for Women during the National Women’s Month Celebration 2025.

This training marks a milestone in PPCWD’s continuing efforts to develop technical capabilities in the water infrastructure landscape and partnerships with stakeholders through the DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS Program, empowering our community toward a self-sufficient and sustainable development.
