March 21, 2025: The Sta. Lucia Water Source Facilities is now officially inaugurated, marking a major milestone in our rural water system facilities around the City of Puerto Princesa.

The Sta. Lucia Water Source Facilities is equipped with modern water treatment technologies featuring a 1 million liters per day (MLD) Water Treatment Plant and a UV Disinfection Facility, designed to address the high-turbid levels during the rainy season; ensuring a consistent supply of clean and potable water.

The facility is also equipped with a 18.7 KW grid-tie for the whole facility & a 15HP/10KW for the direct solar pumping system. The grid-tie system helps lower the operational expenses and directly supplements the facility’s electricity needs.
The agency continues to adapt current renewable trends in minimizing the carbon footprint, reinforcing our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Residents of Brgy. Luzviminda, Brgy. Mangingisda and Brgy. Sta. Lucia of Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) inside the Bureau of Corrections will directly benefit from this project gaining reliable access to clean drinking water.
PPCWD continues to uphold its commitment to modernizing water treatment facilities and addressing the needs of the community, in the face of an increasing challenge in climate change, and investments in climate-resilient facilities

The inauguration and blessing ceremony was attended by the PPCWD Board of Directors led by Atty. Winston T. Gonzales, with the members of the Board Dir. Edgardo A. Palanca, Dir. Richard B. Arambulo, Dir. Melrose O. Tan, and General Manager Walter J. Laurel along with the PPCWD management and staff, joined us with Deputy Mayor Rolando Amurao, Bureau of Corrections C/INSP Renanto Leoncio Anas, and Brgy. Sta. Lucia Officials.
