We are honored to welcome the Metro Tuguegarao Water District team for an insightful benchmarking session with Puerto Princesa City Water District!

The visit focused on technical areas such as:

  • Advance Billing and Collection Utility System (ABACUS)
  • GIS-related system applications
  • Water Treatment Process
  • Development, Operation, and Management of the Septage Facility

Mr. Hadrian Villarosa, MIS Specialist of PPCWD, discussed the function and integration of the ABACUS and GIS applications in one system. This highlights an all-in-one information system storing essential data for day-to-day processes in the agency. The GIS application allows the system to identify and retrieve information on the customer’s water meter and stubout location in the city.

MTWD headed to the 30 MLD Lapu-Lapu Water Treatment Plant and is guided by Engr. Noel Cachuela, Senior Water Utilities Development Officer of the Production Division, to formally discuss the overall functionality of our water treatment process complying to the national standard of drinking water by the DOH.

Mr. Marco Magay wraps up the benchmarking activity in a group discussion of the operations of the treatment plant and its features, and a facility tour of the city’s innovative, economical Septage and Sewerage Treatment Plant (ieSSTP) of Puerto Princesa Water Reclamation and Learning Center, Inc. (PPWRLC).

Key participants from the MTWD included the Department Manager for Admin, HR, and Finance, Corporate Planning Head, MIS Team Head, Water Quality Section Head, Engineers, and System Developers.

Together, we are committed to share our knowledge and best practices for sustainable growth to further improve water services for our communities.
