Joining the Civil Service Commission and other agencies and offices, PPCWD actively participated in the Walk to Serve Campaign as part of the kick-off celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes”.
The annual celebration of the Philippine Civil Service is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, series of 1997 signed by former President Fidel Valdez Ramos declaring the month of September as Civil Service Month.
Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, s. 1997 says: “All agencies, offices, and instrumentalities of government shall implement the programs promulgated by the Civil Service Commission and shall actively participate, as well as ensure the active involvement of their officials and employees, in the activities that the Commission may deem necessary for the meaningful and successful celebration of the Civil Service Month.”
The kick-off celebration was held on September 1, 2022, at City Coliseum.
