Puerto Princesa City Water District celebrates World Water Day 2021 with the theme “Valuing Water”.
“This year´s World Water Day theme is about what water means to people, its true value, and how we can better protect this vital resource. The value of water is much more than its price – water has enormous and complex value for our households, culture, health, education, economics, and the integrity of our natural environment. If we overlook any of these values, we risk mismanaging this finite, irreplaceable resource.” (un.org)
Over the years, we have witnessed how water is under threat from the growing population and from the worsening impact of climate change. This year, we took the celebration to our Campo Uno Source at Irawan Watershed to raise awareness of the importance of our water resource.
PPCWD conducted Tree Planting Activity participated by representatives from different partner agencies and signing of Memorandum of Understanding for PPCWD Adopt-a-Planting Site Program with Bantay Bayan Foundation, Inc.
Moreover, the announced World Water Day Fun Ride scheduled for March 20, 2021, was postponed and registered bikers will be informed of the final schedule. | via J. Rausa
