The Irawan River, also known as the “Campo Uno Source, is a fundamental pillar of Puerto Princesa City’s urban water supply network. Flowing from our protected local watersheds since 2010, this vital surface water source provides the essential raw water required to sustain a significant portion of the city’s daily consumption.
Serving as the primary lifeline for the Irawan Facilities, the river directly feeds the state-of-the-art 18 MLD (Million Liters per Day) Water Treatment Plant. The consistent flow and quality of the Irawan River are critical to the plant’s operations, allowing PPCWD to efficiently process, treat, and distribute safe, potable water to thousands of households and commercial establishments across the urban center.
Recognizing the indispensable value of this natural resource, PPCWD is deeply committed to the ongoing protection and sustainable management of the Irawan watershed. By safeguarding the river’s ecological health, we ensure not only the reliability of our current water infrastructure but also the long-term water security and resilience of Puerto Princesa City for generations to come.
