In celebration of the 49th founding anniversary, the Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) successfully concluded a month-long series of activities that highlighted its unwavering commitment to service, sustainability, and community partnership carrying the essence of nurturing life through water, reminding both employees and stakeholders the important role of protecting our natural resources, the water, and valuing health and well-being of the community it serves.
Tree Planting Activity

The celebration launched on August 1, 2025, with the annual Tree Planting Activity at the Irawan Watershed, participated in by all PPCWD employees.
This annual tradition becomes a symbol of the anniversary of the advocacy of environmental stewardship. Instilling the thought of caring for our most needed natural resources, the water, by conserving and protecting our watershed, ensuring the benefits for our future generations will inherit a sustainable and resilient source of life in Puerto Princesa City.
PPCWD has regularly conducted multiple tree planting activities, participated in the Save the Bays Program by the City Government of Puerto Princesa, and partnered with different stakeholders throughout the year for environmental initiatives and activities.
Health Summit

With the recent success of Men’s Health Month in June 2025, this year’s anniversary program, the Health Summit with Konsulta Program, is back and is dedicated to the PPCWD’s workforce in prioritizing their health and well-being.
Partnered with the Adventist Hospital Palawan, together with Ms. Cristal Coronado, Team Leader for On-Site Phil-Health Konsulta Registration, in spearheading the Konsulta program.
Employees were able to avail free checkups and full body KARADA scans, followed by medical consultations. The summit was graced by physicians, dieticians, and a family counselor from Adventist Hospital Palawan, providing professional advice and lifestyle change recommendations based on their test results.
Complementing the whole program’s focus on health, free healthy treats were made available, such as multigrain pastries and caffeine-based soya milk, to all PPCWD employees, promoting healthier alternatives to common snacks and drinks.
The Health Summit represents PPCWD’s belief that a healthy and happy workforce is essential in sustaining a healthy water district.

School Brigade Activity

The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Committee launched a school brigade activity in the Sta. Monica Elementary School and Palawan National School aimed at extending PPCWD’s advocacy to the youth.
This activity is partnered with the Palawan National School Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (PNS YES-O) students, engaged in storytelling sessions of Ang Tubig at Ikaw Storybook at Sta. Monica Elementary School and spearhead the water and environment presentation to Grade 7, 8, and 9 students of Palawan National School. An interactive question-and-answer session was held for the students to be rewarded with tokens made by the PPCWD, such as customized notebooks, ballpens, and tote bags.
Concluding the activity in turning over the five (5) reams of A4 bond paper to the PNS YES-O in fulfillment of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last July 5, 2025.

A Celebration of Service and Sustainability
This year’s 49th anniversary celebration not only commemorates the decades of public service, but also reaffirms its mission to go beyond providing safe and drinkable water. The agency continues to care for the environment, invest in the well-being of its people, and inspire the youth to become stewards of water conservation and protection.
PPCWD looks forward to its 50th year, with a strong commitment to protecting our water resources and ensuring a brighter and more sustainable tomorrow for the people of Puerto Princesa City.
