Last July 5, 2025, the Palawan National School – Youth for Environment Organizations signed the memorandum of understanding for the Adopt-A-Planting Site with the Puerto Princesa City Water District for the designation of land inside the Irawan Watershed, and has conducted their first tree planting activity of 80 seedlings.
The MOU signifies a new beginning and meaningful collaboration aimed at advancing environmental protection, sustainable development, and public awareness.
This gives opportunity to the students from the Palawan National School be exposed to PPCWD’s activities, promoting water conservation and water security, and becoming a part of the IEC tours, where they will be immersed in water resource management, treatment processes, importance and awareness of water conservation practices.
PPCWD believes that involving the youth in engagement is important to sustaining long-term environmental stewardship. By empowering student leaders through hands-on activities, this aims to spark a ripple effect that further involves other student leaders in different organizations.
The Adopt-A-Planting Site Program is one of PPCWD’s initiatives for a sustainable environment. This initiative directly invites and involves stakeholders in caring for a portion of the area through tree planting activities, monitoring, and other related tasks.
Through this partnership, PPCWD and PNS YES-O reaffirm their shared commitment to safeguarding the environment for future generations.
